Are We Truly Embracing Diversity?
Indonesia is well known as a country full of diversity. From Sabang to Merauke, this nation is home to people from various ethnic groups, religions, customs, and cultural backgrounds. Many citizens also come from different ancestral roots, including Arab, Chinese, European, and more. This diversity should be our strength. Indonesia believes that diversity is a uniqueness. Its national ideology, Pancasila, emphasizes the importance of faith, tolerance, justice, and humanity. It teaches us to treat everyone equally, regardless of their background. But if we take a closer look at our daily lives, are these values truly being practiced? Take religion, for example. Islam is the dominant religion in Indonesia.
