Overthinking: A Challenge in the Digital Era
Overthinking is a mental state in which a person feels insecure, anxious, or doubtful about their abilities, appearance, or skills. In today’s digital era, where social media has developed rapidly, it is very common for people to compare themselves with others. On these platforms, individuals often share their accomplishments and highlights, which can create a false impression that their lives are perfect. As a result, we only see the good side of others without knowing the struggles they face behind the scenes.
This condition can significantly lower one’s self-esteem and, if left unaddressed, may even lead to more serious mental health issues. To cope with overthinking, Islam provides several valuable tips. One of the most effective ways, in my opinion, is to strengthen our spirituality. This means improving our relationship with Allah and trusting that everything happens according to His divine plan. By doing so, we can find peace of mind and learn to accept ourselves without constantly comparing our journey to others.
